Owen's story

Every monthly donor strengthens our fight for kids like 10-year-old Owen. Everyone who meets him sees that Owen is one spunky kid, but what they don’t see is Owen hooked up to a pump delivering nutrients for 15 hours at a time, because he can’t digest properly. He’s spent more of his life in SickKids than out, where his mom says “the therapeutic clowns are his besties.” Through it all, Owen stays upbeat, playing his favourite sport, hockey, as much as he’s able to.

Fight for Grace

By donating monthly, you’ll help kids like Grace, who loves computer games and spending time with family. At 16, Grace was diagnosed with lupus and a heart condition, and underwent heart surgery at SickKids. Today, Grace is doing well – thanks to SickKids, with support from people like you.

Fight for Hendrix

Hendrix was three when he was diagnosed with leukemia. After months of chemotherapy and a relapse, he qualified for CAR T-cell therapy – an innovative treatment where his own cells are modified to target his cancer. Hendrix has been through a lot, but with monthly donor support, SickKids can provide the complex care he needs. Outside the Hospital, Hendrix loves swimming and dancing to his favourite songs.

Fight for Anabia

Monthly donors strengthen our fight for kids like 10-year-old Anabia, who was born with hearing loss. At SickKids, she was the first person in North America to receive an innovative bilateral cochlear implant with smart technology. Today, Anabia’s thriving at school and enjoying the benefits of hearing more clearly and accurately.

Fight for Hailey

Eight-year-old Hailey is happiest when she’s singing and is a budding gymnast. She was born with a heart block and another rare condition, so she’s been a SickKids patient since birth and has been through many surgeries and hospitalizations. Hailey stays fiercely determined through it all: and SickKids is here for her, with support from monthly donors.
