Kursten's story

Monthly donors strengthen our fight for kids like nine-year-old Kursten, who’s being treated at SickKids for Ewing sarcoma, a type of cancer. Before her diagnosis, Kursten loved soccer, dancing and Jiu-Jitsu, so it’s been tough for Kursten to be in the hospital and in pain. Over time, Kursten has regained mobility, and finds joy wherever she can. Her journey is ongoing as she visits SickKids multiple times weekly for chemotherapy and checkups.

Fight for Audrey

Audrey was born with a heart condition and needed surgery at just six days old to help her heart work as it should. Today, 17-year-old Audrey can do all the things she loves, like staying active and playing music. She visits her cardiologist at SickKids every year. When you give to SickKids, you fight for patients like Audrey.

Fight for Chloe

Twelve-year-old Chloe is outgoing and creative – she loves crafts, baking and photography. She’s also a SickKids patient and is undergoing treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma, a type of cancer. She’s spent months away from home and has dealt with many challenging medical treatments. Through it all, Chloe stays strong and confident, with her family and SickKids by her side. Fight for Daniel

14-year-old Daniel (aka DJ) is happiest on the basketball court. But when he was almost 12, he faced an unexpected challenge when he was diagnosed with a rare benign cyst, which was causing him significant pain and stopping him from being active. DJ underwent surgery at SickKids to remove the cyst, and today is back to being his energetic, athletic self. When you give to SickKids, you fight for patients like DJ.

Fight for Jasper

Jasper is a happy four-year-old who loves playing outdoors. He’s also a survivor: at just 19 months old, he was admitted to SickKids with a bacterial infection that had progressed to septic shock and led to his lower right leg being amputated. Jasper’s recovery was challenging, but today he has a prosthetic leg and is back to walking and running on his own. When you give to SickKids, you fight for patients like Jasper.

Wynn loves sports. So when she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, her friends and family rallied around her with the saying ‘In it to Wynn it!’. Wynn’s treatment journey at SickKids is ongoing, and she faces each new step with bravery and confidence. When you give to SickKids, you fight for patients like Wynn.
